"Ready For My Close-Up, Mr. DeMille" began simply as a still life self-portrait. As it progressed, images kept coming to mind of Carol Burnett. In particular was her portrayal of Nora Desmond, which was over dramatic and comical. Her image still cracks me up, only now I can identify with it a little. The piece became Myself, as Carol Burnett, as Nora Desmond.
